Daleville, Indiana \u2014 located about an hour north east of Indianapolis, between Anderson and Muncie \u2014 is a small town of around 1,600 people, but it has one of the coolest parks and splash pads in central Indiana. Daleville Town Hall Park is an amazingly fun space for families, with a large playground, a fantastic splash pad, a snack bar that sells snow cones in the summer, a train to play on, an amphitheater, a dog park and more. Playground for Young Children The playground is dynamic, with play areas that are designed to naturally fold into the existing landscaping. The playground is separated into an area for young kids under 5, and then an area for older kids. The toddler\/younger kid area has pint-sized playground equipment, swings, a huge cement slide, a merry-go-round, a teeter totter and lots of space to run around. Playground for Older Kids The section of the playground for older kids is the perfect place to play hide and seek. There are just so many nooks and hiding places in the gigantic playground structure! There are bridges, ropes to climb, slides, stairs, rocks \u2014 it\u2019s a great place for active kids to expend some energy. Both of the playgrounds are outfitted with Astroturf, so the ground is nice and soft. Daleville Town Hall Park's Splash Pad The splash pad, which opens for the season after Memorial Day, is one of the largest in the state of Indiana. The splash pad features multiple spray jets, hoop sprinklers and a giant bucket that dumps water when it becomes full. Snack Bar and Amphitheater The splash pad is right next to a snack bar, which sells kid-friendly snack bar food \u2014 think hot dogs, nachos and Uncrustables \u2014 as well as snow cones with dozens of syrup flavors. There are tables all around the splash pad, so you can pick a table and watch your kid play in the water. And best of all: There are big umbrellas around the splash pad, so there's shade! There\u2019s an amphitheatre located adjacent to the playground, where outdoor concerts and movies are shown in the summer. It\u2019s a great area to take a seat in the wide-open, grassy field and enjoy some entertainment. Play Train Off to the side is a big shaded atrium with picnic tables, so there are plenty of places to sit. In this area of the park, you\u2019ll find a little wooden train. Kids can climb in and pretend they're train conductors and passengers. And if you\u2019re lucky and at Daleville Town Hall Park at the right time, you might even see a real train come by, as the park is located close to the train tracks. Dog Park at Daleville Town Hall Park Visitors are encouraged to bring their leashed dogs to play at the dog park, which is fenced and includes lots of dog agility equipment. The dog park is dedicated to local police dog K9 Nugent. This park is a short three-minute walk to Dunn-Right, which sells great loose meat sandwiches, hot dogs and ice cream.
