Submit Your Event

Before You Submit Your Event

Please search the Indy’s Child calendar before submitting your event to make sure it isn’t already listed. Our staff adds many local events directly and regularly updates events that return from year to year. Search Calendar.

Events We Accept

The Indy’s Child calendar is intended for family-friendly events that parents can attend on a specific date or choose to attend as a stand-alone experience.

We do not accept multi-day classes, camps, courses or programs that require participants to attend more than one session.

Recurring classes may be submitted only when each date functions as a complete, stand-alone event. Families should be able to attend a single session without registering for or participating in the full series.

Adding Multiple Dates

If your event repeats on additional dates, select the “Schedule multiple events” button to add daily, weekly or monthly recurrences.

If your event takes place over several consecutive days, enter the first and last dates of the event. Include the daily hours and any schedule details in the event description.

Need Help Listing Your Event?

We’re happy to take a closer look if you aren’t sure how your event should be listed. Add “REVIEW NEEDED:” to the beginning of your event title to flag it for the Indy’s Child calendar team. We’ll review the listing and remove that note before publication.

To make changes to an event you’ve already submitted, email [email protected].

Required Event Information

All required fields must be completed before an event can be published on the Indy’s Child calendar.

  • Event title
Use title case. Please do not use all capital letters unless they are part of the event’s official branding.
  • Event description
Clearly explain what families can expect at the event.
  • Event date and time
Double-check that all dates, start times and end times are accurate.
  • Event location
Include the complete venue name and address.

Recommended Information

These details aren’t required, but including them will make your listing more useful and appealing to Indy-area families.

  • Event image
Upload a horizontal or landscape image that is at least 1080 × 760 pixels. The maximum file size is 1 MB. For the best display, choose an image without text or logos, since portions of the image may be cropped.
  • Event categories
Select only the categories that are relevant to your event. Accurate categories make it easier for families to find your listing.
  • Event website
Add a direct link to the event page where visitors can find current details, register or purchase tickets. Please do not link only to a general organization homepage when a specific event page is available.

What to Include in Your Event Description

A helpful event description should answer the questions families are most likely to have before attending:

  • What can families expect at the event?
  • What activities, entertainment or experiences are included?
  • What ages is the event best suited for?
  • How much does the event cost?
  • Is advance registration or ticket purchase required?
  • Are there any important parking, accessibility or arrival details?
