Kid City Indoor Playground at the Greenwood Community Center

Looking for an indoor playground in Greenwood? KiD CiTY at the Greenwood Community Center is a two-story play space packed with climbing features, hands-on activity zones and creative stations that keep kids entertained year-round. The space opened in 2017 as part of a major renovation and blends active play with art, music, building and imaginative exploration.

Located just south of Indianapolis, KiD CiTY goes well beyond a basic play structure. Kids can tackle a giant climbing sculpture, dig into pretend play stations, stack oversized building materials and interact with features designed to get them moving and creating.

What Kids Can Do at KiD CiTY

The biggest draw here is the variety. Instead of relying on one main play feature, the space is divided into multiple zones that support different kinds of play. Kids can climb, build, pretend, create and run around, which makes it easier to keep siblings with different interests or energy levels engaged.

Ground-Level Play Areas

The lower level is where kids can burn the most energy. An Active Zone fills the space with oversized foam building blocks that children can turn into forts, obstacle courses and whatever else they can imagine. A life-sized beaded roller coaster and a pirate ship play feature round out this level.

Outside, visitors can explore the Musical Garden, an enclosed outdoor area where kids experiment with music, sound and vibration. It is a fun extra that sets this spot apart from many other indoor play options around Indianapolis.

Luckey Climber at KiD CiTY

The showstopper is the Luckey Climber, a two-story climbing sculpture that grabs attention the second families walk in. Luckey Climbers are three-dimensional climbing sculptures designed for kids, with each one built as a unique piece of functional play art.

Kids can climb through the structure, loop through different paths and get a bird’s-eye view of the play area from above. It gives the whole space a memorable, one-of-a-kind feel.

Second-Floor Imagination Zone

Upstairs, the focus shifts toward imaginative and hands-on play. The Imagination Zone includes a pint-sized grocery store and kitchen, an art area, a giant Lite Brite wall, a Lego table, a Rigamajig building set and an interactive iBeam floor.

This level is a good fit for kids who love pretend play, open-ended building and creative stations worth revisiting more than once. The mix of active and quieter play spaces also helps the overall layout feel balanced for families planning to stay a while.
