Q&A with SAT Summer Blitz:

What makes SAT Summer Blitz unique?

This summer (2024), we’re offering a one-time opportunity for you to improve your SAT scores with our Summer SAT Blitz program. Our experienced instructors will meet with you, in-person, twice a week to work with you on your Math and Reading/Writing skills, as well as your SAT test taking skills.

We’re taking our track record of proven success with one-on-one SAT prep work to a small group, camp environment. SAT Summer Blitz’s small group setting means that we can make it more affordable than our one-to-one SAT prep courses.

What activities are offered at SAT Summer Blitz?

We offer students professional instruction, plenty of SAT practice, instructor review of their practice work and the chance to take multiple practice SAT tests in an environment that simulates the actual test day experience.

Our Camp Director will also schedule time to speak with parents about the student’s progress and what they might expect in the college admissions process where the SAT is concerned.

Beyond the camp sessions themselves, students will have access to our digital test and practice platform on which they can do further practice and hone their SAT test taking skills even further.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

We will be working in small groups with at least one instructor for every 5 students (5:1).

How much time do the campers spend outside?

We’re inside, rain or shine! No need for umbrellas or sun-screen!

Does SAT Summer Blitz provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

We’ll have some bottled water. Students are welcome to bring their own snacks.

What is the typical daily schedule for campers?

We’ll work in two hour blocks, twice a week. During the first hour, a professional instructor will present and dissect material found on the SAT. The second hour will consist of student practice for 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of practice review with the instructor.

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

Our instructors are adults, certified as SAT instructors by Huntington Learning Center. Each instructor has achieved a high score on the SAT and has been trained specifically on the new digital SAT that has replaced the previous version of the SAT in March of 2024. Our instructors have months of experience, at a minimum, with the new, digital SAT.

Is it important for a student to take the SAT? The colleges they are applying to say that they are “test optional” and don’t require an SAT test.

Yes! It can be extremely important. Many colleges are now “test optional,” but most colleges still consider the SAT (or ACT) to be “very important” in the admissions process. Students who submit scores are usually admitted at a higher rate than those who do not submit scores. Additionally, higher SAT scores can increase your chances of acceptance to the college of your choice and lead to more potential scholarship dollars.
