What makes Summer at Marian unique?
Summer at Marian will provide campers a variety of opportunities to engage with faculty, staff, and current MU students on campus. Campers will receive valuable mentorship and participate in experiences that will encourage youth to feel comfortable on a college campus. From day camp to residential camp options, we hope that campers will feel a sense of belonging, create lasting memories, and truly enjoy spending their summer at Marian University!

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
The camper-to-counselor ratio may differ from camp to camp in order to safely & holistically comply with the needs of the specific camp program and age groups therein. Marian University follows guidelines recommended by the American Camp Association.
How much time do the campers spend outside?
Incorporating weather advisory reports, campers will enjoy ample time outside and indoors depending on the activity or program within each camp.
Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?
Each camp program will specify lunch and snack accommodations.
What is the typical daily schedule for campers?
A typical daily schedule for campers depends on each specific camp or program. Camp Directors will communicate schedules to caregivers and enrolled participants through CampMinder, our summer camp registration platform.
How old are the counselors and how are they trained?
Summer at Marian counselors are current Marian University students, staff, and faculty. They will receive internal training provided by Marian University, CPR and first aid, as well additional training through the American Camp Association.
What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?
Under the guidance of Indiana Department of Education and the American Camp Association, Marian University will strive to make appropriate accommodations for campers with special needs. Marian camp directors and facilitators will work faithfully to communicate specifics of each camp program, collaborate, and communicate with caregivers who will offer the best insight into the needs of their child.
