Q&A with AR Workshop McCordsville:
What makes AR Workshop McCordsville unique?
Kids love our camp because they get to take a quality product home each day that they can proudly display for years to come! Each camp week is focused around a specific theme so that campers can pick and choose their preferred projects. Campers will have design choices, six stains, and 57 different paint colors to choose from to make their projects unique. Campers can join one of our classic series camps that include our most popular projects or join one of our newest camps like Glam camp, Bring Your Doll to Camp Week, Sports Week, Tie Dye Week, or Studio Arts week! We have many available designs for both boys and girls.
What activities are offered at AR Workshop McCordsville?
Campers will experience the greatness of DIY! They will unleash their creativity and learn about color contrast, safely using power tools like power sanders, nail guns, and drills, and learn processes to create one-of-a-kind projects that they take home same day. Campers may also receive additional bonus projects if time allows! We have board games and other activities to play during downtime.
What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
Our camper-to-counselor ratio is 1:6 or 1:8 depending on the specific project offerings for the week.
How much time do the campers spend outside?
Campers can spend some time outside when they first arrive to camp. We set up a table outside to teach them to safely use power sanders for their wood projects! A majority of our camp is indoors due to the nature of our projects.
Does AR Workshop McCordsville provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?
Campers are encouraged to bring a snack and drink to enjoy during breaks. We have water and soda for sale during workshops.
What is the typical daily schedule for campers?
Our camps run from 9:30 am-12 pm or 1:30 pm-4 pm. Campers will complete the first part of their projects, have a snack while their projects dry, and then complete the second half of their projects. We will fill time with fun activities and bonus projects!
How old are the counselors and how are they trained?
Our staff range in ages from 16-42. They are trained to successfully complete each project and walk campers through each step of creating their projects. Staff are encouraged to let campers express their creativity through color choices.
What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?
We can provide a folding table setup for anyone in a wheelchair. The owner of the workshop also has a vast history working with the special needs population. Need an accommodation? Just ask!
