What activities are offered at Huntington Summer Advantage Program?
HLC Reading Comprehension AdvantageÂ
A program for grades 3-12 that builds on foundational reading skills and will help students master techniques required for reading and language literacy.
HLC Math Advantage
A program for grades K-12 that builds on existing foundational math skills, and teaches new concepts as well as problemsolving skills needed for the future.
HLC Advanced Study Skills AdvantageÂ
A program for grades 8-12 and college that teaches higher-level strategies that are necessary for college coursework.
What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
Our student to teacher ratio is 4:1 or less.
How much time do the campers spend outside?
We’re inside with plenty of room! No worries about rain, wind or solar eclipses!
Does Huntington Summer Advantage Program provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?
Parents may provide snacks for students. We do provide bottled water.
What is the typical daily schedule for campers?
Students typically attend 90 minute sessions twice or more times per week. We can schedule based on the student’s convenience.
How old are the counselors and how are they trained?
Our tutors are all degreed, adults. Each of them are certified Huntington tutors and many are teachers certified by the state of Indiana.
What’s different about the Summer Advantage Program versus Huntington’s regular programs?
We’re able to offer significant discounts during the summer months as our school tutoring schedule is lighter than usual during those vacation times. Our Summer Advantage rates are 25% less than our regular rates!
