We visited the Fishers Community Center indoor playground today, and we were completely blown away by both the size and the sheer coolness of this space. If you are looking for a free indoor playground near Indianapolis that will genuinely tire out your kids, this is it.

First Things First: It’s Free, But You Need a Pass and Reservation
The playground is free to visit, but you do need to complete two quick steps first: get a free Fishers Community Pass and make a reservation. Do not let that scare you off. It took me about five minutes to fill out the form and grab a time slot. We visited on a Wednesday and had no trouble reserving the same hour we arrived, but I would definitely plan ahead for weekends, school breaks, or snowy days.

The playground is for ages 12 and under with direct adult supervision. Hours vary by day: Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. It also closes daily from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for cleaning. On the first Friday of every month, it is closed until 4:00 p.m. for a monthly safety inspection.
Check-In Is Easy and Feels Secure
When you arrive at the Fishers Community Center, you can walk straight back to the indoor playground area. There is a dedicated check-in desk where you show your reservation, and they give the adult a name tag with a number that matches how many kids you brought. The staff also acts as kid security, and kids are not leaving the playground area without their adult. It is exactly the kind of peace-of-mind detail parents want in a busy indoor space.
The Main Structure Is Massive
The main playground structure is HUGE. It took my cautious firstborn a few attempts to make it to the top, turning back several times at the beginning before finally conquering his fear. There are three different routes to climb up, each with a different difficulty level, so kids can build confidence as they go.
The easiest path feels like a spiral staircase. Even though it goes up very, very high, it feels secure and safe once you start ascending, with no real fall risk, despite what my cautious kid initially thought.
Obstacle Courses That Are Challenging But Still Feel Safe
One of the coolest features was the set of four parkour-style suspension bridge obstacles connecting the main points of the structure. Each bridge had a different challenge to cross. Safety is clearly a priority here. Beneath the obstacles are two separate layers of safety netting, including a net directly under the course plus a second safety net below that, so kids can push themselves without parents hovering in panic mode.
The designers used every inch of space thoughtfully. There are additional climbing areas tucked off to the side of each main structure, giving kids even more challenges to tackle. My kids loved discovering all the different routes and obstacles throughout the structure. They were constantly finding a new next thing to try.

Yes, the Slides Are Fast
The slides were FAST. I know this because I went down one myself to prove it was safe, and I flew. Once it was mom-approved, my son did it about ten more times. He might be nervous about heights, but a speedy slide is his love language.
Toddler-Friendly Areas Too
Beyond the main structure, there are three additional play areas geared toward younger children. These toddler-friendly structures offer an alternative yet still engaging space for little ones who are not quite ready for the big climber. It is a thoughtful design that means families with kids of different ages can all enjoy the space together.
It Feels Almost Like Being Outside
This is one of those indoor playgrounds that does not feel dark or cramped. The floor-to-ceiling windows make the already large space feel even bigger and more open. The windows are so expansive, and the day we visited was so bright, that I actually wore my sunglasses during parts of our visit.
The Built-In Breaks Make Transitions Easier
Every hour, the playground closes for a 15-minute break at the :45 mark for transition and check-in. At first this might sound inconvenient, but it actually made leaving so much easier when our time was up. When the clock hit 12:45 and the break began, there was no arguing that it was time to go. The natural pause made the transition seamless.
If you are planning to stay longer than 45 minutes or arrive close to the break, you are in luck. Sahm’s Community Cafe is right outside the playground and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. It is open to the community, so it works well as an easy reset spot between play sessions.

Our Verdict
We loved the Fishers Community Center indoor playground, and even though it is about a 25-minute drive from our house, we will be back frequently. It is clean, bright, secure, and genuinely exciting for kids. This is the definition of a playground worth the drive.
