Penguin Park at Washington Township Park in Avon is a great winter activity to get the entire family outside and staying active. The park has been transformed into a holiday winter wonderland, with lots of activities for families, and is running through January 2, 2022.

Penguin Park’s Synthetic Ice Rink
The main attraction at Penguin Park is the large, synthetic ice rink. Guests can strap on roller skates or rollerblades and skate on the pretend ice rink. For those just learning to glide on a pair of skates, skate aids are available for free.
Open skate hours are from 12-2 p.m. Dec. 18; 3-5 p.m. Dec. 26; and 12-2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. Jan. 2. Each week, open skate hours change and are added to the schedule and posted to the park’s website.
Registration is required for holiday skate times, including 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 20-23 and Dec. 27-30. Concessions are available during open and holiday skating hours.
Having a birthday party? Birthday rentals include 10 skate passes, party games on ice and a visit from the Penguin mascot.
Igloo Rentals at Penguin Park
Guests can also rent one of the several inflatable igloos — just to hang out in, or for birthday parties, reunions, and other get-togethers. Igloos are $100 and include 10 skate rentals, and feature tables and chairs, electrical outlets, and can hold up to 15 people.

Buddy the Elf
On Saturday, Dec. 18, Buddy the Elf will visit Penguin Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities for this special event include breakfast with Buddy, crafts, games and a special carriage ride. Tickets are $5 per person. Reserve a spot here.
