If you’re looking for the perfect parent/child class, make sure to add Aqua-Tots Swim School to your list of activities. Over the past few weeks, our Tuesday night parent/child swim class has been a highlight of our week. Each week, 16-month old JJ has a blast in the water while learning one of life essential lessons.
Here are just a few reasons why we love our time at Aqua-Tots!
An Awesome Lobby
If lobbies are how you make your first impression about a business, prepare to be impressed! The first thing you’ll notice is how comfy all the chairs look. The lobby also has a great toy corner that JJ runs to the second we step inside.
The Perfect Water Temperature
We love the warm water in the pool at Aqua-Tots. The water is always kept between 88-90 degrees, which really makes swim lessons a hit in the middle of the winter!
A Small Class Size and Friendly Instructors
The max ratio for a parent/child class is 1:4, which really ensures each child receives tons of attention during the class. Our instructor does such a great job remembering specific details about each student’s life and making us feel special during each class.
YOU (The Parent) Will Learn Something New
When we signed up for parent/child swim class, I don’t think we ever thought about how much WE (as in, the parents) would learn during the class. The classes are designed to make sure the parents are also learning the correct techniques to assist our children in and around the water. My husband was actually a swim instructor in college and said he is constantly learning something new during each Aqua-Tot lesson. The instructors do a great job at explaining each drill and making sure the parents understand how and why each drill is done.
A Jammed-packed Lesson
Every time you step on the deck of the pool, there’s a lesson up be learned. Every few minutes, a new drill occurs and allows for the kids to stay entertained. The class flow keeps up a quick pace, keeping children entertained the whole time.
While there is a lot of learning going on in each class, they also disguise many of the drills as games or songs to make sure everyone is having as much fun as they are learning.
Tons of Progress
Even with such a young swimmer, it’s amazing to see the amount of progress JJ has made each week. He’s becoming more and more comfortable with the water and has started to check many items off of his level 2 swim card.
