These entertaining and enriching classes have been popping up all around the Indianapolis area – and they aren’t just for mommies anymore. Dads, guardians and grandparents can get in on the fun, too.

Make a splash and have a blast with your tyke at the Mini Swim Lessons. These are small classes (limited to six children) that invite parent participation to help give kids a gentle introduction to the water. There are four classes offered, with three not requiring any prior experience. Along with basic swim instruction, the class teaches water safety at a young age.

These classes are offered all throughout Indianapolis and surrounding areas for children ages 18 months through kindergarten with parents attending to help support their child. These playful classes have developmentally appropriate activities that will help each child to reach their full potential in singing, vocabulary and music skills.
Indianapolis Public Libraries
Indianapolis Public Libraries offer tons of drop-in events for parents and their little ones. Some of the most popular programs are Mother Goose on the Loose, Baby Lapsit Storytime, and Babysteps Storytime. Depending on age, the programs usually include story time, dancing and music. The best part? These classes are almost always free.

With their mission being, “Not one more child drowns” – this class is well worth the money spent. The class is a 10-minute, private one-on-one lesson that takes place five days a week. In this class, your child will eventually learn the self-rescue skills while fully clothed.
Indy Parks and Recreation
All over Indy, parks are offering various Mommy and Me programs. Most programs offered are series (like Baby Gymnastics) and require advanced registration, but Parks periodically will offer single classes. They offer a myriad of different activities from regular park adventures to dance lessons and more.
