Little Green Thumbs

​Bring your little gardener to get their hands dirty in the Children’s Garden.  Young ones will learn about gardening and have the chance to help plant, grow and harvest in our vegetable garden. There will also be a story, craft and time to explore. Registration required.

Family Concert Series at the Gazebo

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a picnic supper to enjoy this Carmel summer tradition. Free.

Children’s Garden Tour at Coxhall Garden

Aug. 10 |5:30 – 7:30 pm | Grand Junction Plaza

Take a tour of the Children’s Garden at Coxhall Gardens and discover the inspiration behind this magical little spot. All sorts of ideas went into designing this children’s area, and our naturalist will let you in on the story as we walk around and play. This program will meet at the entrance of the Children’s Garden. Free.

Garfield Park Biergarten in the Sunken Garden

Aug. 18 | 5:30-8:30 pm | Garfield Sunken Garden

Enjoy an evening in the Sunken Garden with the Garfield Brewery! During these special evenings in the Garde, visitors can also enjoy food from The Original Swayzee Hand Breaded Tenderloin and live music and performances. Event admission is free, and there is no need to register. Free.

Outdoor Nerf Battle at Pecar Park

Outdoor Nerf is all the fun and it’s free!! This coming season is full of opportunities to get outdoors and get moving.

Worlds Biggest Water Gun Fight

Aug. 18 | 7-9 pm | Murphy Aquatic Park in Avon

We will supply the water guns, or you can bring your own. Come and play some games like capture the flag, using water guns at Murphy Aquatic Park! Children under 7 should be accompanied by an adult to play games.

SausageFest 

Aug. 19-20 | Saint Thomas Aquinas Church

SausageFest features ice-cold beer from Sun King Brewery, delicious sausage from L.E. Kincaid and Sons meat market, sides from Illinois Street Food Emporium, pizza from Byrnes, and snacks and sweets in the Snack Shack. Activities include inflatables, games, and face painting and a separate chaperoned party lot for teens with a DJ. The main stage music lineup includes returning favorites as well as emerging local talent.
