Geist families are getting a much bigger indoor option for days when Indiana weather isn’t cooperating. Slick City Action Park plans to open a new 55,000-square-foot location on Fox Road in Indianapolis in late August.
According to the company, Slick City Geist will be its largest location in Indiana, with 16 dry slides, air courts, a large arcade and room for more than 1,000 guests. The concept takes the speed and drops of a water park and moves them indoors, without the water.
Indianapolis-area families may already know Slick City from its Brownsburg location, which opened in April 2025. That park is 42,000 square feet, making the new Geist location about 13,000 square feet larger.
Slick City Geist Will Have 16 Indoor Dry Slides
The main draw will be 16 dry slides, the most at any Slick City location in Indiana. Instead of landing in a pool, riders use mats to travel down tall slides before reaching padded landing areas.
The Geist park will use Slick City’s newer layout, with slides crossing, overlapping and winding around one another. The result looks more like an indoor water park than a traditional indoor playground.
The attraction list already includes several Slick City favorites, including Mega Launch, Royal Flush, Big Wave, Twin Turbo, Hyperloop, Zig Zag and Riptide. Some focus on big drops and speed, while others twist, spiral or send riders around large curves and bowls.
There are also Sport and Freestyle Air Courts for basketball, dodgeball, jumping and other active play.
For families who spend a good chunk of winter looking for somewhere to burn off energy, Slick City will add another substantial option to the growing list of indoor playgrounds near Indianapolis.
There Are Separate Areas for Younger Kids
The Brownsburg park includes smaller slides and dedicated play areas for younger children, and Geist will follow a similar setup.
The Geist attraction lineup includes a Junior Jungle soft-play area with mini slides and climbing obstacles, a Web Crawler netted play structure and smaller versions of Slick City’s slides. The park’s current information says the large slides are for ages 4 and older, while the soft-play area is designed for ages 5 and younger.
That separation is worth knowing for families bringing a wide age range. This isn’t an indoor playground built exclusively around elementary-age kids, but younger children won’t necessarily be following older siblings down the biggest slides, either.
A Full Arcade Is Part of the New Geist Location
The Fox Road park isn’t stopping with slides. Plans also include a full-scale, 100-seat arcade positioned beyond the main admission area with a mix of games and family-focused pricing options.
One of the more unusual additions will be the Hyper Grid Interactive Arena. According to Slick City, the interactive gaming attraction will be the only one of its kind in Indiana.
Visits Will Be Sold in Timed Sessions
Like the Brownsburg location, Geist will sell timed Action Tickets. The Geist website currently lists 90-minute and 120-minute ticket options, plus a separate Junior Ticket. Ticket prices have not yet been posted.
CitySocks are required for participants and can be kept and reused on future visits as long as they’re in good condition. Slick City’s Geist website currently lists them at $4.99 per pair.
Parents or other adults who are only watching do not need to purchase an admission ticket. Slick City says spectators receive a separate wristband, although everyone entering the park must have a waiver on file. Guests younger than 18 need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Reservations aren’t required, but Slick City recommends booking online to reserve a preferred date and time. Walk-in tickets can also be purchased at the park when space is available.
Slick City Plans Special Programs Beyond Regular Open Play
The Brownsburg location runs special events throughout the year, and several of those programs are already listed as coming soon on the Geist calendar.
Planned programs include Little Sliders Club for younger children, glow-in-the-dark After Hours events for kids and teens, Sensory Hours with reduced music and smaller crowds, Adults Only Nights, Homeschool Socials and Family Days.
The Sensory Hours could be particularly useful for families who like the idea of Slick City but know that a large indoor entertainment center at full volume and full capacity isn’t going to work for their child. Dates for the Geist programs have not been announced yet.
The Park Is Designed for Big Groups, Too
Slick City Geist will have an occupancy of more than 1,000 guests, making this location considerably more than a drop-in play spot. The park is being designed to accommodate birthday parties, sports teams, school outings, community events and other large groups.
Expanded gathering areas are also part of the project. For parents planning a birthday party, the extra capacity and separate activity areas could make the Geist location especially useful for larger groups.
When Will Slick City Geist Open?
Slick City is targeting a late-August opening, although an exact grand opening date has not been announced. Details about opening celebrations are expected closer to opening.
The park will operate year-round in a climate-controlled space with both single-day admission and membership options. Regular ticket prices, membership costs and operating hours have not yet been posted.
The Geist park is also part of a larger Central Indiana expansion. Another Slick City location is planned for Greenwood later this year.
