Riverside Regional Park, located on the near west side of Indianapolis, is one of the city’s biggest parks. And now, it has a new playground! Riverside Adventure Park is situated on the northern part of Riverside Regional Park, and it has all-new playground equipment, four miles of walking trails, picnic shelters, and fitness equipment on the playground.
Riverside Adventure Park: Fun for Everyone
Riverside Adventure Park transformed a part of the northern end of Riverside Regional Park that used to be a golf course. It’s a unique greenspace with trails, pavilions, plazas, playgrounds and more.
The park’s northern section also has increased parking, along with a plaza and restrooms near the nature zone playground and shelter.
The middle of the park will include new trails, as well as a fitness loop, more parking, more restrooms and more picnic shelters.

Big Plans for Riverside Park
The project to revitalize this area of the park is ongoing. The park’s master plan has been a work in progress since 2017. Riverside Regional Park’s development is expected to occur over the next 20 years.
The project’s boundaries are 38th Street to the north, 18th Street to the south, Riverside Drive to the east and Cold Spring Road to the west.
