Celebrate love (and a love for local parks) all month long! Now through February 28, 2021, everyone is welcome to visit three different Fishers parks for a short, scavenger-hunt-style hike to look for heart pictures. The participating parks include Heritage Park, Roy G. Holland Memorial Park and Nickel Plate District Amphitheater.
The pictures on the Heart Hike feature naturally occurring heart shapes in nature: a heart-shaped tree trunk, birds forming into a heart shape, and more. Each park location features different images, and there are approximately 20 images along each hike.
The Heart Hike activities coincide with American Heart Month, and is a way for residents to get outdoors, engage in some ecotherapy, and explore our local parks, all while taking part in some Valentine’s Day fun in a unique way.
On Saturday, February 13 from 1 to 4 p.m., families can head to Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve (10410 Hague Rd., Fishers) for a Heart Hike Valentine’s Day event. Celebrate Valentine’s Day by taking the Heart Hike, enjoying a free cup of hot cocoa, and warming up by the campfire.
All hikes are socially distanced and self-led.
