Trail & Treat on the Canal turns the Downtown Canal into a car-free, well-lit trick-or-treat route with treat stops and activities hosted by community partners. There is no set start or order, so families can visit a few stops or walk, stroll or bike the whole route at their own pace. Dogs are welcome too.
Activities include a kids’ concert with Mr. Daniel, free mini “Eerie” Canal boat rides with Old World Gondoliers, balloon animals, yard games on the Indiana State Museum patio, a visit from Boomer of the Indiana Pacers, the Colts Canal Playspace and the Pawp-Up Pup Park, plus stops with the Indianapolis Fire Department, IMPD and Fresco Italian Cafe. The Eiteljorg Museum’s DÃa de Muertos Community Celebration runs the same day on the museum’s terrace.
Good to Know:
- Free; registration is strongly encouraged
- The information tent, with maps, extra bags and first aid, is at 701 Canal Walk, across from the Colts Canal Playspace by the Orange Bridge
- Presented by the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Downtown Indy Alliance and the city’s Department of Metropolitan Development
