Whether you’re needing some practice on the fine art of trick or treating or the kiddos just can’t wait for October 31st, we’ve tracked down a few ways to hone in your ToT’ing skills before the big day.
Here are 10 places to trick or treat in Indianapolis before Halloween:
October 5-8, 12-15, 19-22 and 26-29, 2-7 pm
Each year, ZooBoo provides all the fun festivities the season has to offer in a family-friendly event. Fall is already one of the best times to visit the Indianapolis Zoo with the animals out and active in mild temperatures. Add a Halloween twist full of decorations, photo opportunities and all your favorite ZooBoo activities for a day your family will love – plus this year you can experience the brand new Pumpkin Town with lots of added activities! Little ones are encouraged to dress up in their favorite wild costumes and to bring a re-usable goodie bag for a little trick-or-treat, too.
October 19 & 20, 5:50-8 pm; October 21, 5-8 pm
Join Holliday Park Staff and actors from Booth Tarkington Civic Theater for an enchantingly fun evening! Families hike along candlelit trails and interact with different forest creatures who can magically speak for the night, then return to the nature center for a campfire, refreshments and activities. New characters debut this fall. Pre-registration required here.
October 21, 3-5 pm
Come Trunk or Treat with the Indiana State Police and other agencies from around Marion County at the Indiana State Police Museum. This is a free event for the whole family – they’ll offer carnival games, a DJ, and troopers and local law enforcement handing out candy to visitors.

Dress up your little ones for a spooktacular halloween bash & costume party. October 26, 5-9 pm
Little Haunt on the Prairie at Ghoul Creek Park is fun for the whole family! Spooky, yet-age appropriate Halloween activities will be offered for children ranging from preschool to school-ages and their families! You are welcome to come in your costumes and enjoy nature interpretation, entertainment, a hayride, food for purchase, and activities for the little ones as they trick-or-treat their way through this spooky event. $3 per person and please bring a non-perishable or canned food item to donate to Amanda Strong Food for the Needy.
October 27, 6:30-8:30 pm
The Fishers Parks and Recreation Boo Bash is a fun Halloween Village filled with local businesses, games, music, costume contests and trick or treating among the various booths for candy – and it’s all FREE! A Sensory Friendly Hour will lead directly into the event from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. that will provide a sensory friendly environment for children with special needs. Note: Due to construction at the Amp, Boo Bash has moved to the Central Green in front of City Hall.
October 27, 5-8 pm
The Riviera Club will host their annual Trunk-Or-Treat event and you do NOT need to be a member to attend! Running from 5-8pm, the event will also include live music and local food trucks.
October 29, 3-6 pm
Watch pumpkins get projected out of a giant slingshot and enjoy some indoor trunk or treating! Westside Church will host the haunted bus, fall festivities and flying pumpkins!!! You can shoot a pumpkin from a trebuchet or a giant slingshot for $2. Keep close watch on their Facebook page for more updates.
October 28, 10 am-noon
Halloween events can be overwhelming for littlest ghouls and goblins. Don’t miss out on the all the cute, costumed fun! Bring your family to this not-so-scary Halloween Howl, featuring games, music, treats, and the most adorable costume parade you’ve ever seen. Event is included with your cafe admission. $10/kids, adults are free.

October 29, 4-7 pm
Mark your calendar for this fun event! Shops on Mass Ave in downtown Indy open their doors to trick or treaters and typically feature fun activities at each stop. This is a rain or shine event and is free to participate. Participating businesses are located from the 400 block through the 900 block.
