Here are 17 places to trick or treat in Indianapolis before Halloween:
October 3-27, Thursday – Sunday only
Each year, ZooBoo provides all the fun festivities the season has to offer in a family-friendly event. Fall is already one of the best times to visit the Indianapolis Zoo with the animals out and active in mild temperatures. Add a Halloween twist full of decorations, photo opportunities and all your favorite ZooBoo activities for a day your family will love – plus this year you can experience the brand new Pumpkin Town with lots of added activities! Little ones are encouraged to dress up in their favorite wild costumes and to bring a re-usable goodie bag for a little trick-or-treat, too.
October 17 – 18, 5:50 – 8:00pm; October 19, 5:00 – 8:00pm
Join Holliday Park Staff and actors from Booth Tarkington Civic Theater for an enchantingly fun evening!
Families hike along candlelit trails and interact with different forest creatures who can magically speak for the night, then return to the nature center for a campfire, refreshments and activities. Hike groups leave every 10 minutes. $8/person, children 2 and under are free. Pre-registration required.
October 18, 4:30 – 6:00pm VIP hour ($5), 6:00 – 8:30pm regular hours (free)
Monster Mash is guaranteed fun for all ages. Come for a night of entertainment, including trick or treating, bounce houses, music, food and more. Time to get your costumes ready and join us for a night of Spooky Fun! This year the event will be in Craig Park instead of the Community Center. Only 400 spots available for VIP hour. October 19, 3:00 – 5:00pm
Come Trunk or Treat with the Indiana State Police and other agencies from around Marion County at the Indiana State Police Museum. This is a free event for the whole family – they’ll offer carnival games, a DJ, and troopers and local law enforcement handing out candy to visitors.
October 26, 5:00 – 7:00pm
This Halloween, Danville Parks and Recreation will be hosting the Danville Monster Mash Block Party! This free event is open for all ages and will have everything: candy, glow sticks, s’mores, games, giveaways, face painting, and a photo booth. There will also be a Jack-o-Lantern contest, costume contest, and Glowball!

Head to your local Gymboree Play & Music for a not-so-spooky Halloween event! Enjoy sweet treats, show off your fancy costumes with a fun parade, squish in a slime station, climb a cobweb, and listen to monsterly good music. $20 per child/$10 per sibling. Call your location of choice to reserve your spot today. An adult can attend with up to 2 children. This party is for children ages 16 months – 5 years. Please, don’t forget your socks!
October 24, 5:00 – 9:00pm
Spooky, yet age-appropriate Halloween activities will be offered for children ranging from preschool to school ages and their families at the Cool Creek Nature Center parking lot! You are welcome to come in your costumes and enjoy nature interpretation, entertainment, a hayride, food for purchase, and activities for the little ones as they trick-or-treat their way through this spooky event. Enjoy hayrides, craft stations, a spooky nature trail, games, live owls, Monster Mash dance area, marshmallows at the campfire ring, and more. $3 per person and please bring a non-perishable or canned food item to donate to Amanda Strong Food for the Needy.
8. Boo Bash
October 26, 10:00am – 1:00pm
The Fishers Parks and Recreation Boo Bash is a fun Halloween Village filled with local businesses, games, music, costume contests and trick or treating among the various booths for candy at Central Green – and it’s all FREE!
October 26, 5:30 – 9:00pm (non-scary hours, 5:30 – 6:30pm; scary hours, 6:30 – 9:00pm)
The Riviera Club will host their annual Trunk-Or-Treat event and you do NOT need to be a member to attend! Running from 5:30 – 9:00pm, the event will also include Trunk or Treat from 5:30 – 7:00pm, live music, local food trucks, Halloween games, and more.
10. Halloween Town
October 26, 9:00am – 10:00pm
Head to downtown Franklin for this all-day event, featuring a Halloween run/walk, hay rides, Creepy Cabin, Grimm Halloween at the downtown library, a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, zombie face painting, trick or treating, and so much more! View the day’s full schedule here.
October 26, 9:00am – 2:00pm
Any classic car lovers in your house? If so, this is the trunk or treat for you. This event will feature breakfast treats, fun and scary music, a variety of vendors, games and activities for all ages! We will also have giveaways, a car decorating contest and plenty of prizes. If you are decorating your car, feel free to bring goodies to pass out to the children. Dress in your creepiest attire to pose in our photo area and we’ll see you there!
October 26, noon – 4:00pm
Dress the kids up in their favorite Halloween costumes and celebrate fall with Market District! Kids can trick or treat as part of the costume parade throughout the store, decorate cookies and even win their very own cupcake in our oh-so-popular cupcake walk. We’ll have a DJ, face painters, wonderful fall foods to sample and more! The costume parade & trick-or-treating starts at 1:30pm.
October 27, 4:00 – 6:00pm
Bring your littles tonight to trick-or-treat up and down Mass Ave. Participating merchants will be dressed in costumes, at their storefronts to pass out candy a few days before Halloween! Shop and have dinner at one of our family-friendly restaurants. Fun for the whole family on a MassAVE-ly sweet night!
October 27, 4:00 – 6:00pm
Trunk or Treat is becoming a tradition at Roberts Park. The church invites church members and friends, daycare and local community families to the Halloween Trunk or Treat event in the church parking lot.
October 23, 4:30 – 8:00pm
Join the Indianapolis Colts at the 2019 Horseshoe Halloween Party at Lucas Oil Stadium for a night filled with trick-or-treating, costumes and festive games with Colts players, cheerleaders and your favorite mascot – Blue! This event is open to the public. All children must be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian. All attendees are required to download a ticket, regardless of age.
October 19, 4:00 – 6:00pm
The werewolves will howl, the monsters will mash! It’s time to celebrate with a Halloween Bash! Bring your little ghoul or goblin out to our annual Halloween Party at Federal Hill Commons in Noblesville. This event is free to attend. Stop by the trick or treat village filled with local businesses offering a variety of treats and activities for your little one.
October 26, 4:00 – 5:30pm
Bring your little goblin for a lights-on, trick-or-treat tour of Nightmare on Edgewood. $6 per family to participate.
