Carmel Christkindlmarkt

At the Carmel Christkindlmarkt, visitors can explore a German-style holiday market filled with food, music, shopping, and family activities. The market runs for six weeks, with wooden vendor huts, festive lights, and traditional music creating a European-style atmosphere in the heart of Indiana.

Guests can enjoy classic German foods like schnitzel, raclette, dumplings, and giant pretzels. Drinks include mulled wine, German beer, and a kid-friendly punch. This year’s collectible boot mug was designed by a local student.

Shopping includes hand-carved ornaments, wooden toys, and German-made gifts like jewelry and cuckoo clocks. Live music performances take place throughout the season, featuring polka, blues, and holiday favorites.

Families will find plenty to do, including crafts in the Kinderecke, artisan demos in the Werkstatt, puppet shows, and meet-and-greets with holiday characters in the SPIELHAUS. The nearby ice rink, The Ice at Carter Green, offers public skating through early February.
