Tips for Attending Symphony on the Prairie
Attending the Symphony on the Prairie can be an unforgettable experience with a little preparation. Here are some tips to enhance your enjoyment:
- Pack a Picnic: Elevate your concert experience by bringing along a picnic basket filled with your family’s favorite treats. Seasoned attendees often set up portable tables to display their culinary spreads elegantly.
- Alcohol Permitted: Feel free to bring along your favorite wine or beer to enjoy during the concert. It will make for a relaxed and enjoyable evening under the stars.
- Consider Transportation for Your Gear: If you’re bringing a lot of items, using a wagon can greatly simplify transporting your food, chairs, and blankets from the parking area to your spot on the grass. For those without a wagon, the Boy Scouts often have wagons available to help carry your items pre-concert, and Conner Prairie provides a tractor-pulled shuttle to assist with transportation from the parking area.
- Essential Items to Bring: Pack a picnic blanket or chair, a wagon or cooler for transportation, and picnic foods. Don’t forget a vinyl tablecloth as a ground cover and a makeshift rain cover. Bring trash bags for cleanup and a flashlight for navigating after the concert.
- Upgrade Your Experience: For an added level of comfort and convenience, consider purchasing reserved seating or renting a table (with a maximum of ten people per table). These options go on sale to the general public on April 23. Benefits include advanced dinner ordering with delivery straight to your seat from A Cut Above Catering, particularly advantageous for those in the Huntington Bank Sunset Lounge or with table reservations.
