Get ready to celebrate the fourth of July as Kroger Symphony on the Prairie presents the Star-Spangled Symphony with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra with conductor Alfred Savia and guest jazz trumpeter Byron Stripling. Concerts run nightly July 3–5 and feature patriotic music, special guest artists, and an exciting fireworks finale to the 1812 Overture!
As part of the pre-show festivities, the 38th Infantry Division Band will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to honor Army veterans and families. 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the United States Army, and the 38th Infantry Division Band will commemorate this significant milestone with a musical journey through history as they reflect on the legacy of service, sacrifice and dedication. The 38th Infantry Division Band was organized in 1917 and remains the only military band in the state of Indiana. The band is a versatile organization that performs a wide variety of music, including marches, traditional and patriotic selections, and jazz or other popular music styles. Notable appearances include performances with Wycliffe Gordon, the Indianapolis 500 Festivities, as well as for political dignitaries.
