Where to Find Santa in Indianapolis

December is Santa’s time to shine – and he is making the most of it right here in Indianapolis.

Check out a few of our favorite local spots around town to find Santa in Indianapolis this time of year!



Where to Find Santa in Indianapolis:


The Indianapolis Zoo 

Find the big guy in his charming study at the enchanted Santa’s Village during Christmas at the Zoo. While you are there, visit with Santa’s reindeer, decorate cookies in Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen, go for a carousel ride, and, of course, enjoy thousands of twinkling lights. Visits with Santa are included with admission through December 23, 5pm – close, with photo packages available for purchase. Please be in line by 9pm to visit Santa. Visitors can also say hi to Santa early December 13-23, 12:30 – 4:00pm in the Schaefer Rotunda in the White River Gardens.

The Indiana State Museum 

Spend time with Santa and Mrs. Claus in their cozy home in the heart of Celebration Crossing at the Indiana State Museum. Ride on the Santa Claus Express, make crafts to take home and play in Santa’s Playground. Santa lands at Celebration Crosssing on November 29 and will be there every day through January 5, 2020. Included in museum admission and free to members.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Santa will be on hand during Jolly Days at The Children’s Museum to listen to your wish list and pose for a photo. “Ice skate” in your socks, explore an ice castle, go “ice fishing,” “bake” some wintertime goodies and take a trip down the Yule Slide. Santa will be at the museum November 29 – December 24 and Jolly Days continues through January 5, 2020.

Indiana History Center

Every Saturday and Sunday, Thanksgiving – Christmas, Santa strolls through the History Center from noon to 4:00pm, handing out special treats to children of all ages. He’ll stop for breaks in the Multipurpose Room on the Canal Level at 1:00 and 3:00pm for storytime with the little ones in the Citizens Energy Group Santa’s Reading Nook. The Indiana Historical Society’s Festival of Trees is open November 15, 2019 – January 4, 2020.

Liter House

Enjoy breakfast with Santa every Sunday in December leading up to Christmas at this popular South Broad Ripple spot! Your morning will include a pancake and breakfast buffet, cookie decorating station, and the chance to hang out with Santa from 10:00am – noon. Tickets are $19 for adults and $12 for kids. Conner Prairie

Enjoy a delicious breakfast or dinner, decorate cookies, and meet Santa in person! Sit in awe and wonder as Santa recites his beloved rendition of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Join Santa in song, and after filling your bellies with a delectable holiday meal, sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what you want for Christmas. Carmel Arts District

Experience the wonder of the holidays and see Santa during Holiday at Center Green on November 23, 3:30 – 6:30pm. And in December, don’t miss Holiday in the Arts District with elves, reindeer, carolers from local choirs, trolley rides, a visit from Santa on Saturday, December 7, 2:00 – 5:00pm.

James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home

Have your photo taken with a Victorian-era Santa during the Victorian Christmas Open House at the James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home on Saturday, December 7, 10:00am – 4:00pm! The event will feature free walk-through tours of the Museum Home, music in the parlor on a 100-year-old piano, a visit with Mr. Riley, refreshments and art vendors. And for the first time, the walk-through will play host to authentic recreations of a period Christmas dinner and displays of period-styled formal Christmas attire.

James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home

Winter Wonderland at Nickel Plate District Amphitheater

Kick off the most wonderful time of the year at Winter Wonderland on Saturday, December 7 from 4 – 7 PM at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater in Fishers. Don’t miss this free event with lots of frosty fun, including the annual tree lighting, ice carving demonstrations, carriage rides around the Municipal Complex, stories with Santa inside City Hall, S’mores Stations around the NPD AMP, kids’ crafts and games, and more!

Santa House on the Square

Santa House on the Square in Noblesville

Visit with Santa in his quaint little house in Noblesville, this year at the Noblesville Courthouse Square. Bring your young and young at heart to meet Santa! Visits are free and parents can snap a photo with their camera. Find dates and times here.

Westfield in Lights

Enjoy activities for the whole family downtown Westfield on Saturday, December 7, 3:00 – 7:00pm! Festivities include pictures with Santa and Frosty the Snowman, gingerbread house display, live reindeer petting and show, live musical entertainment, food & retail vendors, and the annual tree lighting celebration.

At the Mall

Sneak in a visit with Santa during one of your holiday shopping trips through December 24 at these area malls. Plus, most locations have a specified Caring Santa time, so those kiddos with special needs can still experience the joys of meeting Santa!
