Touch-a-Truck events are a reliable win for kids who love fire trucks, construction equipment, police cars, buses, dump trucks and anything else with wheels. These hands-on events give children a chance to climb aboard, explore the vehicles up close, meet the people who operate them and ask approximately 400 questions about sirens.
Keep in mind that Touch-a-Truck events can be loud, especially when horns, sirens and flashing lights are involved. Many events include a sensory-friendly hour, noted below when available, but use your best judgment if your child is sensitive to noise or crowds.

Mooresville Touch A Truck

Event Highlights: Families can check out public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation and delivery vehicles in one place. Trucks will be set up in the Aquatic Center parking lot, giving kids a chance to see the vehicles up close and learn more about the people who use them every day.
Greenwood Parks & Recreation Touch A Truck

Event Highlights: Greenwood’s event brings kid-favorite vehicles together so children can climb in, explore and see big machines up close. Families may also bring toy trucks for kids to “drive” alongside the real ones.
Fishers Parks & Recreation Touch-a-Truck

Event Highlights: Kids can explore Fishers’ fleet of big rigs, including tractors, snowplows, police cars and fire trucks. The event includes live demonstrations from Fishers Public Works, Health, Fire and Police departments, with K-9 demos, paving demonstrations and rope rescue. Families can also design and race a custom mini car on the Touch-A-Truck test track and check out food vendors on-site.
Party in the Park Touch-a-Truck in Zionsville

City of Westfield Touch A Truck

Event Highlights: Presented by Centier Bank, Westfield’s event includes emergency vehicles, construction equipment and more, including fire trucks, an ambulance, police car, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office command bus, skid steer, dump trucks, excavators and a concrete truck. The event also includes a Game Zone with an obstacle course and interactive sports games. During sensory hour, there will be no lights, sirens or loud noises.
Brown County Touch-A-Truck

Event Highlights: Presented by Duke Energy and South Central Indiana REMC, this event lets kids see, touch and explore big trucks, heavy equipment and emergency vehicles. Families can also meet community workers, including police officers, firefighters and construction workers.

Event Highlights: Presented by the Danville Chamber and Hendricks County Bank, this free event is part of the Hendricks County 4-H Fair. Families can interact with local police and fire departments, town employees and others from the community.
Johnson County Park Touch-A-Truck
