SKYLAKE Adventures Opens Near Indianapolis This Summer

A new outdoor water park is opening north of Indianapolis, just in time for the part of summer when everyone is either wet, sweaty or both.

SKYLAKE Adventures opens June 4, 2026, in Sheridan, near U.S. 31 and just north of Grand Park Sports Campus. The first phase of the park is built around a six-acre white-sand lake with floating obstacle courses, water slides, beach areas, kayak and paddle board rentals, and rentable cabanas. It is not a lazy-river-and-wave-pool setup. This is more of a climb, balance, slide, splash and then sit in the sand while someone asks for a snack kind of place.

The park is located at 22105 Dunbar Rd., Sheridan, IN 46069.

SKYLAKE Adventures Opens June 4 in Sheridan

SKYLAKE Adventures is opening its first wave of attractions June 4, 2026. The 126-acre outdoor destination is described by park officials as Indiana’s first large-scale adventure park, with phased expansions planned over the next several years. Phase 1 focuses on water attractions, including the X Tower, Splash Challenge, Tidal Trek, SKY Slides, beach access and lake-based rentals. Additional attractions, including a high ropes course and all-season tubing hill, are planned to open later.

Founded by Phil Sack and co-founder Sean Howard, the privately funded project sits in Hamilton County, just north of Grand Park. The location is part of the appeal for Indianapolis-area families, especially those already traveling to Westfield or Sheridan for youth sports, tournaments or summer activities.

The setup is different from a traditional municipal pool or indoor water park. Families should expect lake-based attractions, sand, life jackets and active water play. In other words, this is probably not the place for the kid who wants to float quietly in three inches of water for 20 minutes while holding a plastic dinosaur. It is more geared toward kids, teens and adults who want to move.

What Is Included With Admission?

General admission includes a full day of water-based activities and beach access. The published attraction list includes:

  • Splash Challenge: A floating obstacle course with climbing, balancing, sliding and bouncing elements. According to the park, this attraction is designed for ages 10 and older.
  • Tidal Trek: A scaled floating obstacle course designed for younger guests who want a more manageable version of the climb-and-splash experience.
  • X Tower: A climbing and slide attraction built into the lake area.
  • SKY Slides: Side-by-side slides built into the terrain with a splash finish.
  • Sunset Sands: Three beach areas, including South Beach for adults, SKY Beach for teens and families and Splash Beach for younger children.
  • General lake and beach access.

Attractions may close because of weather or unsafe conditions. SKYLAKE says tickets may be rescheduled if the park closes because of inclement weather or unsafe conditions.

Cabanas, Rentals and Add-Ons

SKYLAKE offers several upgrades that are not included with general admission and need to be booked separately. Add-ons listed by the park include:

  • SKYBanas: Day-of cabana rentals for shaded private space.
  • Umbrella and chairs: A package with one umbrella and two beach chairs for the day.
  • Kayak rentals: Kayak use on the lake for a set period.
  • Paddle board rentals: Paddle board use on the lake for a set period.
  • Private Group SKYBana Cove: An exclusive private cove with five cabanas and an attendant, designed for groups, larger families or special occasions.

The park has also confirmed group, team, corporate and private event packages, including birthday party bookings. Specific rental prices were not posted at the time of this draft, so families should check the official ticketing page before booking.

Ticket Prices

General admission is $55 for ages 10 and older and $50 for kids ages 4 to 9. Children must be at least 4 years old to participate in park activities.

A two-day pass upgrade is also available at the time of purchase. Tickets are sold online through the park’s ticketing partner, and reservations are required.

Parking, Reservations and Waivers

Parking is not included with admission. Parking is $15 per vehicle.

Reservations are required. If same-day availability remains, guests may be able to buy tickets at the park, but families should not count on walking up without checking first.

Every guest participating in an activity must complete a waiver before arrival. Guests younger than 18 need an adult or legal guardian to complete and sign the online waiver. Waivers are valid for the calendar year once completed.

Age Rules and Swimming Requirements

All participants must be at least 4 years old. Guests younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.

SKYLAKE says guests must know how to swim. All guests are required to wear a SKYLAKE-issued, U.S. Coast Guard-certified life jacket during activities. Guests may not bring their own life jacket. The park says if a guest is too small or too large for the provided life jackets, that guest will receive a full refund.

Lifeguards will be on duty to monitor guest safety, but the park makes it clear that lifeguards are not responsible for supervising children. That part is still on parents and caregivers.

Is SKYLAKE Good for Younger Kids?

SKYLAKE allows children as young as 4 to participate, but this is still an active, lake-based adventure park. Families with younger children should expect sand, open water, life jackets, climbing features and water play that requires close supervision.

The park may be especially appealing for older kids, tweens and teens who have outgrown splash pads but still want something more exciting than a neighborhood pool. Younger children may enjoy the beach areas and Tidal Trek, but parents should consider their child’s comfort with water, noise, crowds and physical play before visiting.

Food and Drinks

SKYLAKE says food and beverage options will be available on-site, with more details expected closer to opening. Specific restaurant, concession and outside food policies were not posted at the time of this draft.

Hours

SKYLAKE says it will be open every day during the summer, weather permitting. Exact daily operating hours have not been posted yet. The park says daily updates will be shared on its website and social media.

What’s Coming Later

The water attractions are opening first. SKYLAKE says a high ropes course and an all-season tubing hill are expected to open later in 2026.

  • High ropes course: A treetop ropes course set within the park’s wooded acreage.
  • All-season tubing hill: A year-round tubing run designed to operate beyond the summer season.

The full development is expected to roll out in phases through 2031.

Why Families Are Watching This One

For Indianapolis-area families, the location is part of the draw. SKYLAKE sits in Sheridan, north of Westfield and close to Grand Park, which means it may become an easy add-on for families already in Hamilton County for youth sports tournaments. SKYLAKE and Grand Park Sports Campus have also announced a multi-year partnership aimed at giving traveling sports families more to do between games.

For local parents, it adds another option to the summer water rotation, especially for families with older kids who have outgrown splash pads but still need somewhere to burn off energy. If you are looking for a free water option closer to home, we also keep a guide to splash pads in Indianapolis.
