SKYLAKE Adventures, the lake and beach park that opened in Sheridan in June 2026, is turning into a winter park. The plan is snow tubing down what SKYLAKE calls Hamilton County’s highest point, an ice skating rink, a three-story ropes course, a walk-through holiday light trail and a vendor village with food, warm drinks and holiday shopping. SKYLAKE hasn’t posted winter dates, hours or prices yet,* but its holiday vendor village is set to run from Black Friday, Nov. 27, 2026, through Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2026. If you missed the summer season, our first look at SKYLAKE Adventures covers the lake side of the park.

SKYLAKE Winter 2026: What We Know So Far
- Where: 22105 Dunbar Road, Sheridan, just north of Grand Park in Westfield. From Indianapolis, take U.S. 31 north to Exit 136 (Sheridan) and follow the signs to Dunbar Road.
- When: SKYLAKE says its winter dates are coming soon. Its FAQ puts the tubing hill’s opening around Thanksgiving, depending on construction, weather, permits and readiness.*
- Holiday vendor village: Black Friday, Nov. 27, 2026, through Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2026.
- Tickets: SKYLAKE says a general admission ticket covers the winter village and the holiday light trail. Snow tubing, ice skating and the ropes course are add-ons you buy one at a time or as a bundle. Winter prices have not been posted.* For comparison, summer general admission was $55 for ages 10 and up and $50 for ages 4 to 9.
- Parking: $15 per vehicle, free for Adventure Pass holders.
- Annual passes: SKYLAKE says its annual passes cover the dry-land attractions as they open, including snow tubing, ice skating and the ropes course. The Explorer Pass is $119 for ages 10 and up and $109 for ages 4 to 9, but it is blacked out over Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 26 to 29, 2026; Dec. 24 to 27, 2026; and Dec. 31, 2026, to Jan. 3, 2027, and parking is extra. The Adventure Pass, $159 and $139, has no blackout dates and includes parking.
*2026 information has not been released yet. We will update as soon as it is announced.
The Winter Attractions
Snow Tubing
The tubing hill is the big draw. It is the mound of dirt you have been watching grow from U.S. 31; SKYLAKE reported it at 80 feet tall in November 2025, and the park now bills it as the highest point in Hamilton County. SKYLAKE calls it an all-season tubing hill, and in winter it is a snow tubing run. Age and height rules for tubing have not been posted yet.* For the other hills within driving distance, see our guide to skiing and snow tubing near Indianapolis.

Ice Skating
SKYLAKE’s site lists the rink as one of the add-on adventures, not part of general admission. SKYLAKE has not said yet whether skate rental is included or extra.* For other rinks around town, see our guide to ice skating in Indianapolis.

Ropes Course
The three-story ropes course is the climbing option. SKYLAKE’s FAQ had it opening in fall, and the park lists it among its winter add-on adventures. No age or height rules have been posted,* so don’t promise it to a preschooler yet.
Holiday Light Trail
A walk-through trail of holiday lights rounds out the evening. SKYLAKE’s site says the trail and the vendor village are included with general admission, and the park also promises firepits and seasonal treats.

Vendor Village
The vendor village is the place to warm up, with local food and drinks and decorated holiday huts where local businesses and makers sell gifts, handmade goods, holiday decor and boutique finds. SKYLAKE asks its vendors to staff the huts every day from Nov. 27 to Dec. 24, 2026.

The Polar Plunge Moves to SKYLAKE
Special Olympics Indiana is moving its Polar Plunge season showcase from Eagle Creek Park to SKYLAKE for the 2027 season. The plunge season runs January through March, and the showcase is its season-ending event. The two-day event has a school plunge on Friday and a community plunge on Saturday, and Special Olympics Indiana says a ramp into the water will let plungers who use wheelchairs take part. Dates and registration have not been announced yet.*
Before You Go
- Sign the waiver ahead of time. Every guest who does an activity needs a waiver signed online before arrival, and a parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18. Waivers are good for the calendar year, so one signed in 2026 covers a December visit but not a January one.
- Book ahead. SKYLAKE requires reservations and sells tickets at the gate only if there is room.
- Bring an adult. Kids under 16 have to be with an adult or guardian.
- Ask about discounts. Military members and first responders get a discount with the codes on SKYLAKE’s FAQ page, Sheridan residents get a break on annual passes and groups of 10 or more get 10% off. Bring proof of eligibility.
- Skip the cooler. Outside food and drinks are generally not allowed, but a personal water bottle and a few snacks for little kids are fine.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.
