If you’re looking for a low-key late-winter outing, the Parke County Maple Fair is a sweet one to put on the calendar. Held over two weekends in late February and early March, it’s a chance to see where maple syrup comes from and enjoy a pancake-filled day in Parke County.
Dates and Times
The fair runs February 21–22 and February 28–March 1, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Fair Headquarters is at the Parke County 4-H Fairgrounds, 1472 N. U.S. 41, Rockville, IN 47872.
What Families Will See and Do
Late February marks the start of maple syrup season, when producers tap maple trees to collect sap and boil it down into syrup. During Maple Fair weekends, visitors can tour working sugar camps, watch the syrup-making process, and sample fresh maple syrup. The fairgrounds serve as the main hub, and Parke County’s scenic covered bridges are part of the experience for families who want to explore the area’s country roads.
Food
Pancakes are served all day and topped with fresh Parke County maple syrup. Whole hog sausage is also on the menu, along with maple candy, maple cookies, homemade baked goods, jams, jellies, and handmade crafts from local vendors.
