Now there’s a new place to cool off in Westfield this summer! The City of Westfield finished remodeling the new splash pad at Quaker Park, and it is scheduled to open on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
“We know the splash pad has been a huge hit with Westfield families,” says Mayor Andy Cook. “More than ever, it will be wonderful to see kids enjoying this park throughout the summer. Amenities that bring the community together are among the reasons we are one of the most desirable communities in the nation.”
The new splash pad includes 20 water features, almost double the number of the previous splash pad, which had 11. With new technology, the facility will use less water running at 104 gallons per minute versus the previous 15-year-old system that used 316 gallons per minute. Additionally, the facility has a new surface which is safer than the concrete surface of the previous structure. The splash pad will be be open from 9 am to 9 pm, seven days a week through the summer.
“This splash pad was custom designed for Westfield,” says Westfield Parks Superintendent Chris McConnell. “This is part of a rebirth of Quaker Park with the addition of several new amenities for all ages.”
Along with the splash pad, Quaker Park also improved its playground, installed the second-in-the-Midwest interactive Sona Arch and has installed three new pickleball courts and a shelter.
Quaker Park is located at 17501 Dartown Rd. in Westfield. For more info about the Quaker Park splash pad at Westfield parks, visit westfield.in.gov.
