Big changes are coming to Carmel’s Midtown Plaza starting this spring 2024! A $13 million expansion to the Monon Greenway in Midtown Carmel will begin this spring, continuing the next phase of the expansion of the popular Monon Trail through the urban core of Carmel.
The expanded trail in Carmel will include new playgrounds and public gathering spaces. This project will be flanked to the west by the Great American Songbook Museum and to the east by a redevelopment project envisioned to include a food hall.
The $13-million project will widen the Greenway from 14 to 140 feet between Walnut Street and City Center Drive, which is immediately south of where the previous expansion occurred in the Midtown area.
The City expects to begin this expansion in the spring of 2024, with an estimated completion by the end of 2025.
