Howard Park is located in South Bend, Indiana, and boasts one of the state’s most impressive ice-skating rinks. The 16,000-square-foot ice trail and pond at Howard Park have made it a premier winter destination.

Howard Park Ice Trail and Pond
The ice trail features rolling hills, curves and other terrain that provide skaters with a diverse experience as they make their way around the loop. The ice pond is connected to the ice trail, where skaters can find a more traditional skating experience. The pond is a great place for learning to skate or engaging in activities such as broomball.

The ice rink is open seven days a week throughout the cold-weather season. All ice skating sessions are 90 minutes long. A limited number of online reservations are available, guaranteeing access to the rink.
Admission to the Ice Trail and Pond is $7/child (3 – 17) and $10/adult (18+), ice skates are included with all tickets. A limited number of skate aids are available for children to use.

The Playground at Howard Park
After your ice skating session, the playground is worth a visit. The state-of-the-art playground is over 13,000 square feet and includes traditional and innovative equipment. The playground, located within the ice trail path, features various terrain levels designed specifically for different age groups from ages 2-12.
Dining at the Park
Howard Park also has its own restaurant, Howard Park Public House, serving daily food from breakfast to dinner.
The Chocolate Cafe, owned by the South Bend Chocolate Company, is a concession stand that sells seasonal snacks and beverages. It has a small window located at the support building.

Fire pits are available on a first-come, first-served basis within the park. Adirondack chairs surround each of them so you can enjoy your time warming up at the fire.
Yoga on the Ice
Guests can participate in yoga on the ice every Saturday throughout the month of January at Howard Park.
