Celebrate the opening of Beyond Spaceship Earth, an immersive experience that explores how astronauts live and study on the International Space Station (ISS). In this new permanent exhibit, children and families will experience what it’s like to eat, sleep and work aboard the ISS. Former NASA astronaut and the museum’s Extraordinary Scientist-in-Residence, Dr. David Wolf helped design this real life replica complete with hands-on learning opportunities for all generations.

Learn how astronauts continue important scientific research aboard the ISS, live their daily lives, and how they retrieve cargo in this interactive exhibit! You can even try out your space legs in a simulated spacewalk!

See the interior of the ISS up close with authentic objects and artifacts from the ISS, robotic tools that repair the station, and a scale replica of the Soyuz capsule that transports our astronauts back home.

Explore the new Schaefer Planetarium and Space Object Theater, where the actual Liberty Bell 7 is on display. Enjoy features about Indiana astronaut Gus Grissom, the Race-to-Space historical period, and the Liberty Bell 7. Beyond Spaceship Earth also features an Indiana Astronaut Hall of Fame dedicated to recognizing the strides made in scientific inquiry by Hoosiers in space.

What’s coming up?

Doc McStuffins: The Exhibit opens August 6, 2016.

For the first time ever, Disney is partnering with a museum to present an exhibit that spotlights Doc McStuffins, a young girl who dreams of becoming a doctor like her mom! Join Doc and her stuffed animal pals for hands-on fun, with a focus on leading healthy lives. Just as “Doc” helps promote healthy lifestyles with helpful hints, Riley Hospital for Children Indiana University Health will provide its expertise with visits from real nurses and doctors on select dates.
