Imagine a place where you can be surrounded by LEGO — LEGO sets, LEGO minifigures, LEGO blocks, LEGO everything — in Indianapolis. This place exists, and it’s called It’s a Block Party, located across the street from Long’s Bakery on Indy’s south side.
Lots of LEGO at It’s a Block Party
It’s a Block Party is 5,000 square feet of floor-to-ceiling bricks, sets and displays, all featuring LEGO and the creativity that stems from building with these popular bricks. The store is the creation of Indy resident Doug Davis, who has been playing with and collecting LEGO since he was a child. It’s a Block Party has been in business for almost a decade, but recently moved to its new, permanent location on Southport Road in late 2021. The store encompasses just a fraction of Davis’ collection, which he sells by the piece, cup, pound, set or in even greater quantities.

LEGO Sets
The store buys and sells LEGO sets, both new and used. You’ll find a huge variety of LEGO sets for every age and interest, ranging from LEGO Friends for young kids, all the way up to complex, thousands-of-pieces Star Wars sets for big kids and adults. And if there is a set you’re looking for but don’t see it in the store, just ask. It’s a Block Party has even more inventory that’s not on the store shelves.
Minifig Station
In the middle of the store, you’ll find a long table with tons of tiny heads and body parts. But don’t worry, it’s not a gruesome scene — it’s just a LEGO minifig (miniature figure) station! At It’s a Block Party, they have a Build a Fig area, where you can build your own LEGO minifig. For $5, you get a set of LEGO legs, one torso, one head, one hat or hair, and two accessory items. Accessory items include things like lightsabers, weapons, backpacks, jet packs, beards, skis and more.

A Place to Become Inspired
It’s a Block Party has lots of custom creations on display in the store, so it’s a great place to visit to browse and get your next idea for your own LEGO designs. It’s almost like visiting a LEGO museum!
