To Kill a Mockingbird

During a few summers of the 1930s in Alabama, Jean Louise Finch, nicknamed Scout, and her brother Jem bear witness to the resounding effects of a trial in their small town of Maycomb. Their father and attorney Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) agrees to defend Tom Robinson (Brock Peters), a black man unjustly accused of raping a white woman. Meanwhile, Jem and Scout befriend a boy name Dill that comes to stay with his aunt each summer. The trio are intrigued by their neighbors, and the mysterious seldom-seen Arther “Boo” Radley in particular.

Directed by Robert Mulligan, 1962, 129 minutes, Not Rated.
