Homeschool Days: Glaciers

Part of Homeschool Days at Pecar Nature Center

Homeschool Days at Pecar Nature Center give homeschool students hands-on lessons with the Washington Township Parks naturalist, with a new topic every few weeks. Students explore the inside of a pumpkin with digital microscopes, learn how coyotes and American badgers survive and hunt, practice wilderness survival skills such as shelter building, animal tracking and fire building, study how snowflakes form and learn how glaciers shaped Indiana.

Programs are for ages 5 to 14 and cost $5 per student. Students should dress for the weather, since some activities take place outdoors. The Wilderness Survival sessions include banana boats, so families should tell the naturalist about any food allergies.
