Fall Festival at Brown County State Park

Brown County State Park’s Fall Festival, formerly Halloween in the Hills, fills a Saturday with Halloween activities around the Nature Center and campground. Families can make crafts including animal Halloween masks from noon to 4 p.m., enter the pumpkin carving contest (judged in three age groups, with pumpkins displayed at the Friends’ Circle from 7 to 9 p.m.) and trick-or-treat at participating campsites from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The evening ends with campfire stories and a candlelit hike on the Discovery Trail from 7 to 9 p.m.

Campers can also enter the campsite decorating contest by 5 p.m. for camping vouchers. The festival is included with the park entrance fee, and hikers should wear closed-toe shoes and bring a flashlight.
