From October 2 to October 26, Conner Prairie will host the annual Headless Horseman Festival, running Thursday through Sunday evenings. This family-friendly fall event features a mix of fun and mild frights, with activities for all ages.

Visitors can explore an 11-acre corn maze with three route options, including the Trail of Terror for those seeking a scarier experience. Younger children can enjoy shorter mazes and carnival-style rides like the barrel train. Live performances, puppet shows, storytelling, and seasonal treats are also part of the evening.
A highlight of the event is the haunted hayride, which requires a separate $10 ticket and advance time selection. The ride winds through dark woods and includes an appearance by the Headless Horseman. Earlier rides tend to be less intense and more suitable for young children.
Conner Prairie provides accessible wagons and sensory-friendly kits at the entrance. Families are encouraged to plan their visit based on their children’s comfort with spooky environments.
