The Indianapolis Zoo makes Christmas at the Zoo sensory friendly on two evenings, with changes to sound, smell and lighting throughout the event. A calming room in the Hix Institute, across from Oceans, is open on both nights for anyone who needs a quiet space.
The sensory-friendly hours are included with zoo admission. The zoo is certified as a Sensory Inclusive organization, and families with specific needs can contact the zoo before visiting.
