What makes Carmel Latin School unique?
A Latin school education is about formation, not just information. We are a non denominational Christian school that supports parents in the spiritual training and character formation of their child. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that students are adequately challenged and engaged in the classroom.

What ages and grade levels does Carmel Latin School serve?
CLS serves students in Jr. Kindergarten – 12th grades.
What is the enrollment process, and are there any key dates families should know?
Carmel Latin School operates with a rolling admission. New families may apply at any time. Current families need to re-apply by early February to avoid a late enrollment fee. More information can be found at carmellatin.org/how-to-apply.


Does Carmel Latin School offer financial assistance?
CLS offers the opportunity to apply for financial assistance to families that have a financial need. CLS has limited funding for financial assistance and amounts are based solely on financial need. Families who would like to be considered for CLS financial assistance are required to fill out a Financial Aid Assistance Form no later than February 15th.
What are the standard school day hours?
Carmel Latin School offers a distinct, hybrid school model with 1-2 school at home days and 2-4 in class days, which gradually increase by grade level. Our lower school (JK-6th) hours are 8 - 2:45 PM and our upper school (7th-12th) hours 8 - 3 PM.


Does Carmel Latin School have a uniform or dress code?
Yes. All students are required to wear a uniform which vary by grade level.

How many students attend Carmel Latin School, and what is the average class size or student-to-teacher ratio?
Our average class size is 12-16 students with a total of approximately 180 students attending CLS.
What specialty classes and extracurricular activities does Carmel Latin School offer?
All students in Kindergarten through 6th grades have Art, Choir, and Physical Education every week. In the Upper School (grades 7-12), students participate in Choir, have the option of Art as an elective, and earn their PE credit through our House Program by participating in Club Sports.
All students at CLS study Latin beginning in 2nd grade and have the option of studying Greek in grades 7-12.

What safety and security measures does Carmel Latin School have in place?
All doors to CLS Lower and Upper School buildings are locked during the school day.
CLS is equipped with a security plan that is available to review through our office. Faculty and students are informed of emergency procedures and participate in scheduled drills throughout the year.
In addition, we have policies and training in place to help prevent bullying, harassment, and address other safety concerns.

Does Carmel Latin School have a homework policy?
Homework at CLS is assigned for a specific purpose, either to practice concepts that have already been introduced and practiced in class or to prepare for an upcoming quizzes or tests. Homework is not busy work and is assigned to help students practice and master skills.
