Same Location, All-New Library Space
The Main Library will once again be located at 425 E. Main Street in Carmel, across the street from Carmel High School. The reopening marks the completion of a $40-million project to increase the size of the library and renovate existing spaces to better serve Carmel’s growing community. Highlights of the project include a Digital Media Lab relocated from off site, an expanded teens area, flexible meeting rooms, and a parking garage attached to the library by a skybridge.
“We know the Carmel community is passionate about the library and is highly anticipating our doors opening,” says library director Bob Swanay. “I can promise it will be worth the wait. Every facet of the library has been significantly enhanced and improved in this project.”
Grand Reopening Celebration
The community is invited to celebrate the reopening of the expanded Main Library with fun activities for all ages throughout the day on Saturday, October 1. Visitors can explore the expanded Main Library, get or renew a library card, and check things out!
