Q&A with Butler Discovery Camp:Â
What makes Butler Discovery Camp unique?
We’re located on a university campus and have access to all that Butler has to offer! Campers will visit locations like the Butler farm or the observatory, eat outside in the beautiful gardens, and engage with Butler student counselors. It’s a great opportunity for campers to be a Butler Bulldog for a week!
What activities are offered at Butler Discovery Camp?
Each camp will include games, arts, crafts, and play based on the camp theme. Farm to Table campers will visit the Butler farm, Game Makers will play and create their own games, Art in Nature campers will go on nature walks and make nature journals, and so much more!
What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
1:8 at minimum.
How much time do the campers spend outside?
As much as possible – it all depends on how the sun/heat index behaves!
Does Butler Discovery Camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?
Snacks are included each day. Campers should pack a lunch.
How old are the counselors and how are they trained?
Counselors are current Butler students. All camp staff are trained in positive youth engagement strategies, emergency response plans, best practices, etc.
What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?
We work meet accommodation requests. Please include your accommodation requests with your registration form and we will reach out to you.
