Q&A with Summer of Fun Camp:
What makes Summer of Fun Camp unique?
Indianapolis Healthplex Summer Camp is hosted in a 150,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, giving campers plenty of space to stay active, explore new interests, and have fun in a safe environment. All camp staff are CPR certified and have passed background checks and drug screenings, ensuring camper safety is always a top priority.
The Summer of Fun Camp experience is enhanced by engaging weekly field trips, which may include destinations such as the Children’s Museum, Indiana Fever, Camp Town, and more (field trips vary by week). Parents also appreciate strong communication: the Camp Director provides daily updates on what to bring, upcoming activities, and special events so families feel informed and prepared.

Campers enjoy a wide variety of activities designed to keep them active, learning, and engaged, including:
- Canoeing.
- Yoga.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

How much time do the campers spend outside?
Campers spend approximately half of each day outdoors, weather permitting. Water breaks are built in throughout the day, with access to shade or indoor spaces as needed based on weather conditions and camper needs.
Does Summer of Fun Camp provide lunch/snacks, or do parents need to provide them?
Yes. Camp provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily. Parents are encouraged to send small amounts of cash on field trip days if their child would like to purchase an extra treat or souvenir. Campers should also bring a refillable water bottle each day.

Many counselors have been part of the program for 2–4 years, allowing them to build strong, lasting relationships with campers year after year.
