DNOVA Institute hosts the Young Innovator’s Quest (YiQ) Summer Program and IDEAA Summer programs that offer high school students hands-on experiences in STEM, medicine, innovation, and engineering. YiQ focuses on research and problem-solving, while IDEAA emphasizes design, advanced manufacturing, and automation. Both programs include mentorship, workshops, and career exploration to prepare students for future opportunities.

What makes DNOVA Institute unique?

DNOVA Institute’s YiQ and IDEAA Summer programs stand out by offering hands-on, research-driven experiences in STEM, medicine, innovation, and engineering. Our programs emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and career readiness, and provide a learning experience beyond the classroom. Financial Aid is available (up to the full tuition cost) based on financial need. All students who successfully complete the programs receive merit scholarships – $400 for iDEAA participants and $600 for YiQ participants. In addition, all students are invited to participate in the DNOVA Scholars Competition in which winning teams will be awarded the following prizes: 1st Place – $3,000, 2nd Place – $2,000 and 3rd Place $1,000.

What activities are offered at DNOVA Institute?

Students work on real-world projects, engage with industry professionals, and receive mentorship from experts.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

About 1 to every 5 students. We also have volunteers and mentors that help along the way.

How much time do the campers spend outside?

Campers spend about half of the program outside on industry tours and field trips, where they engage with professionals, explore real-world STEM and innovation environments, and apply their learning beyond the classroom.

Does DNOVA Institute provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

Our programs provide meals, access to purchase meals, and meal vouchers for those who qualify. Participants are welcome to pack their meals, as well. We accommodate dietary restrictions and ensure that students have nutritious options throughout the program.

What is the typical daily schedule for campers?

Both camps run Monday–Friday. Mornings focus on STEM workshops, seminars, and lab work, while afternoons include industry field trips, project development, and mentorship.

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

Our counselors are all adults: mostly college age students and professionals with experience in STEM, medicine, and engineering. They receive CPR training as well as training in mentorship, program facilitation, and safety.

We are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all campers. We work closely with parents to ensure any necessary accommodations for special needs are met, including dietary restrictions, mobility assistance, or additional support for learning
