If you thought you missed out on Louisville Zoo’s epic Chinese lantern festival, you’re in luck.
The Wild Lights Lantern Festival at the Louisville Zoo is a worth-the-drive event for the whole family.
The festival was cut short by COVID-19. The Louisville Zoo is now open again and the popular show will run through August 28.
These lanterns are true masterpieces. Artists, aided by engineers and electricians, spend up to 40 days on each perfectly lit creation.
Wild Lights is an outdoor event for everyone to enjoy — while practicing social distancing. This is a cultural experience designed to delight guests of all ages. The route is 1.4 miles long and takes around one hour to walk through. (The event is wheelchair and stroller friendly.)
Tickets are available at WildLightsLouisville.com. All guests must purchase tickets online in advance. Tickets will not be available at the Zoo due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Zoo will honor all Wild Lights tickets that were purchased before the event’s COVID-19 postponement. Those with previous tickets will be able to attend on any date of the festival by showing their tickets at the ticket windows.
The Louisville Zoo is located at 1100 Trevilian Way in Louisville, KY 40213. The Wild Lights festival runs Thursdays-Sundays through August 28.
