Get ready to be whisked away into the enchanting world of Tchaikovsky’s timeless masterpiece, The Nutcracker, as The Metropolitan Youth Ballet of Indiana proudly presents its highly anticipated production from December 20-22, 2024, at the STAR Bank Performing Arts Center in Zionsville. This beloved holiday classic, complete with stunning choreography, vintage hand-painted backdrops, captivating music, and exquisite costumes, promises to ignite the magic of the season for audiences of all ages.
Under the visionary leadership of Artistic Director Jane Hachiya-Weiner and Associate Artistic Director Frank Weiner, the production features a talented cast of over 70 pre-professional dancers aged 5-18 from across the metro Indianapolis region. From the joyful holiday party at The Stahlbaum’s to the epic midnight battle between mice and toy soldiers, the enchanting journey through the Kingdom of Snow, and the mesmerizing Land of Sweets, audiences will be introduced to iconic characters such as Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, Godfather Drosselmeyer, the Mouse Queen, the Snow Queen, Mother Ginger, and of course, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
Don’t forget to come early to enjoy the beautifully decorated theatre lobby. It will house the Sugar Plum Boutique, offering last-minute holiday shopping opportunities, as well as the delectable Land of Sweets Bake Sale for a delightful intermission treat.
