The 2024 Canadian Pacific (CPKC) Holiday Train is all set to embark on a festive journey, spreading holiday cheer and raising essential funds and awareness to support food banks. From November 21 to December 20, the train will travel across Canada and the US, featuring professional musicians who will perform free concerts from the brightly decorated stage.
The CPKC Holiday Train has been a symbol of generosity and community spirit since its inaugural journey in 1999, having raised over $243 million and gathered approximately 53 million pounds of food for food banks in Canada and the US. This holiday tradition is a heartwarming display of compassion and support for those struggling with food insecurity.
The Holiday Train’s Mission:
- Raising money, food, and awareness to support food banks across the CPKC network
- Donating to the local food bank at each stop
- Encouraging all attendees to make monetary or heart-healthy food donations
- The 2024 CPKC Holiday Express will also return with Santa Claus and his elves, visiting 13 communities in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. This festive six-car train will spread holiday cheer and extend its support to local food banks in these regions.

The CPKC Holiday Train unites people in the spirit of the season as it travels across Canada and the United States, generating critical support for our neighbors in need through the program’s support of local food banks.
In addition to the Holiday Train, the Tren Navideo, which includes two decorated boxcars, a flat car with a nativity scene, an Alto Total caboose, a Mexican Revolution commemorative caboose, and an eco-friendly locomotive – all adorned with holiday lights, has been visiting underprivileged communities in Mexico since 2010.
