Italian Street Festival | June 12–13 | Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 520 Stevens St. | 5–11 p.m. | FREE
The Holy Rosary parish festival runs two evenings with Italian food, wine, live music and a crowd that turns out every summer. Admission and parking are free. Lawn chairs are welcome by the stage, dogs are fine on a leash, and coolers are not allowed. On Saturday, a traditional Marian procession steps off at 6:45 p.m., followed by a special Mass at 7 p.m.
Colonial Fair | June 12–13 | 4635 N Illinois St. | 9 a.m.–5 p.m. | FREE
Now in its third year, this living-history fair re-creates life in the American colonies of the late 1700s with hands-on crafts, spy missions, demonstrations, a mercantile and a tavern. This year’s theme is “Dangerous Ideas and Intrigue.” Free to attend.
Crawfordsville Strawberry Festival | June 12–14 | The Lane Place, Crawfordsville | FREE
About an hour west of Indianapolis, this three-day festival on the Lane Place grounds is built around home-baked strawberry shortcake and roughly 90 arts and crafts booths. There’s live music, classic car and antique tractor shows, a 5K run/walk with a 1K kiddie romp, a cornhole tournament and a children’s area. Admission is free.
Cinderella at Beef & Boards | Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre, 9301 Michigan Road | Ticketed
Beef & Boards stages Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” a G-rated family production with the Fairy Godmother, a royal ball and the glass slipper. The show runs about two hours with one intermission, and tickets include the theater’s buffet and select beverages. Kids ages 3 to 15 get $10 off regular ticket prices, and children under 3 are not admitted. It plays through July 12.
