Swimming returns to Eagle Creek Park
Great news for beach lovers! After a temporary closure for the past few summers due to Covid-19 and lifeguard shortages, swimming is finally back at Eagle Creek Park. As the largest park in Indianapolis, this long-awaited return brings joy and excitement to those seeking a refreshing dip in the lake. So let the sun-kissed days at Indy’s beloved beach begin again!

How much is admission to Eagle Creek Park Beach?
This year, entry to the beach is FREE with park admission! The park admission fees are as follows:
- Marion County vehicle: $5
- Non-Marion County vehicle: $6

Eagle Creek Watersports
Eagle Creek Park offers a wide range of water activities for those who enjoy being on the water. At the Marina, you can rent various watercraft, including canoes, kayaks, pontoon boats, row boats, paddle boats, and paddle boards. To inquire about rentals, please contact 317.327.7130.
For those interested in rowing, the Indianapolis Rowing Center provides classes and programs for individuals of all experience levels. This includes adult and collegiate rowers, youth between the ages of 13 and 18, as well as underprivileged youth and physically disabled individuals. The boathouse is open from March to November, with classes typically running from April to October.
Visitors are also welcome to bring their personal boats to Eagle Creek Reservoir. However, there are a few guidelines to follow. Personal boats with a maximum horsepower of 10 are permitted, and there is a length restriction of 26 feet. If you plan to launch your boat using the car top launch, the admission fee is $3 in addition to the park admission. Additionally, small canoes and kayaks can be launched from the old boat ramp located at the back of the Earth Discovery Center parking lot. Please note that vehicles are not allowed in this area, and boats must be portaged down the ramp.
Eagle Creek Summer Concert Series
Every Wednesday night from June to August, attendees can enjoy local folk or jazz tunes at the swimming beach of Eagle Creek Park. The Indy Parks concert series “In Concert with Nature” and “Jazz on the Point” kick off at 6:30 pm. Blankets and chairs are welcome, providing comfortable spots for guests to relax and enjoy the music. Since shaded areas are limited, it is advisable to bring along personal umbrellas for additional shade.
