Swimming Lessons at the World-Famous IU Natatorium

Swimming is a life skill, and the IU Natatorium offers classes for all ages.
Infant/Toddler (Ages 6-36 months)

This class is a great introduction to water safety and beginning swimming skills. You and your child will enjoy exploring the water together in our 85⁰ instructional pool and learning through play.

Preschool (Ages 3-4 years)

Young children will enjoy the small group setting of this class, building their comfort in and around the water. Beginning skills such as proper air exchange, floating, and kicking are introduced.

Children’s (Ages 5-17 years)

This class utilizes the nationally recognized SwimAmerica™ program that was developed by the American Swimming Coaches Association. SwimAmerica™ is a technique oriented, progressive, 10-station program. This program will teach your child goal setting, and give them a feeling of self-confidence as they advance through the levels. Children are evaluated at their first lesson to determine their level, and placed in groups with other children of similar ability. Instruction in each class is based on your child’s individual need.

Adult (18+)

Whether you are a true beginner or you want to improve your current abilities, the adult class is for you. Our highly trained instructors tailor the lessons based on each participant’s needs and goals.
