Central Indiana high school students are invited to audition for Summer Stock Stage (SSS) April 27 and 29 at Park Tudor School.
SSS is a premier educational theater group that provides students with an extraordinary performing arts experience.
Auditions for main stage productions “Urinetown” and “The Secret Garden” are open to incoming eighth graders through 2018 graduating seniors. Students may audition for one or both shows. Auditions will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on April 27 and 2 to 6 p.m. on April 29 at Park Tudor’s Fine Arts Building.
Students should prepare 16 bars of a musical theater selection and bring sheet music in the correct key, along with their completed audition forms. A dance audition will also take place. SSS is committed to inclusive casting and students of all ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
“Summer Stock Stage is an invaluable experience, particularly for those interested in pursuing musical theater beyond high school,” said SSS Artistic Director Emily Ristine Holloway. “Students learn to share their creative talents, build confidence and work as a team.”
SSS was founded in 2004 and offers students the opportunity to learn, connect and perform in professional stage productions. Students ages 13 to 18 come from more than 40 schools throughout central Indiana to focus on vocal, dramatic, and dance performances. Each summer, ten main stage performances reach more than 3,500 theatergoers.
