Shop Small in Indy during Small Business Saturday

Small businesses are the bedrock of our society, and Small Business Saturday is the day once a year that serves to remind us that by supporting our homegrown shops and restaurants, we support our communities as a whole. This Saturday, November 25, why not pay a visit to your favorite local shop (or two) to stock up on holiday gifts while giving back to our Indianapolis communities that we love so much. Any local shop will do, or take part in one of these local Small Business Saturday events:

 

Mass Ave INDY

Shop Small at over 75 Mass Avenue merchants and venues. This year’s event starts at 9am with over 250 swag bags given away to the early bird shoppers. Merchants are giving back over $5,000 in discounts merchandise and swag, thanking you for your support of local brick and mortar retail in Indy. Click here for a list of participating vendors.

Broad Ripple Village

Destinations are scattered throughout the Village. Stop in at the BRVA office, 6323 Guilford Avenue, to pick up a map of all the destinations. Be sure to arrive early – BRVA will be giving away reusable canvas bags, stuffed with gift certificates, to the first 100 visitors. Plus, don’t miss the Village’s three pop-up shops that will feature over 40 artisans – AND – the special art exhibit at the BRVA gallery, 6323 Guilford Ave.

Tinsel Town

Head to the Near East Side and enjoy holiday activities, artist pop-ups, a winter warmer from hot chocolate stands, festive decorations, and lights at each participating shop. Click here to download a printable map.

Carmel City Center

As a development focused on independently-owned specialty retail and restaurant offerings, Carmel City Center is the perfect place to spend Small Business Saturday. Many of the shops will have special promotions in their stores to help you kick off your holiday shopping tradition! And local Carmel High School (CHS) students from the CHS Art Club painted storefront windows to create a “Winter Wonderland”  –  take a walking tour of the artwork while you shop and dine. Nickel Plate Arts

Shop local on Small Business Saturday and get first dibs on handmade wares during Nickel Plate Arts’ annual Gifted exhibit. You’ll find one-of-a-kind gifts for family, friends or coworkers at reasonable prices, all while supporting local artists and Nickel Plate Arts. Plus, the FREE gift-wrapping station marks one more thing off of your holiday to-do list. While you are there, tap into your inner artist during the Pop-Up Class: Mixed Media Junk Journal from noon-3pm.

Shop Fishers

Before you head out to the big box stores, don’t forget to check out the goods and services that are available in Fishers. Shop Fishers kicks off on Small Business Saturday, and allows customers to celebrate and learn more about local businesses that can meet your holiday gift-giving needs. Downtown Noblesville

Shop small in Downtown Noblesville on Small Business Saturday, support the community and earn a chance to win $100 cash. For every purchase that you make a participating merchant, you get one (1) entry in the raffle to win. The drawing will take place on Tuesday, November 28.
