Road Trip: Farm LIFE in Lanesville, IN

Just north of Louisville in southern Indiana, the town of Lanesville is home to Farm LIFE, a working farm that is open to visitors from September 18 through October 31.

Farm LIFE offers educational tours for daycares and students, and they also offer a beautiful landscape for weddings and other large events. But the big draw is their fall festival, which brings families to the farm throughout the season to enjoy the multiple attractions and events that the farm plans for its visitors.

Fall Fun

There are lots of fall activities here that the entire family can enjoy. You’ll find a hayride, pumpkin patch, corn maze, jumping pillow and corn cannon, and lots more.

Plenty of photo opportunities are spaced throughout the property. As you walk around the property, you can learn a little more about a working farm and what it takes to care for the animals and work the land.

Unique Finds

Younger kids can visit Kiddyville, which is a space available to kids ages 5 and younger. In Kiddyville, babies and toddlers can explore in a space that’s set up for them, with fun activities like a pedal tractor track.

Older kids can check out the bungee trampoline, mine for gems or challenge themselves to see how far up the hill they can climb. Thrill-seeking older kids can also enjoy a zip line.

Plan to Stay for the Day

Farm LIFE offers fire pit rentals for those that want to make a day of it, ending with roasting hot dogs and s’mores under the clear, starry night.

In addition to the fall festival and pumpkin picking events each year, visitors get a farm tour, where they can meet the Farm LIFE cows, exotic chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guineas, pigs, horses, ponies, sheep and rabbits. Once the tour is complete, visitors can watch the pig races, corn hole tournaments and tug of war competitions that take place during the day.
