While the changing of the leaves signals the end of another year, there’s no end in sight for new enriching experiences to be had at Indy Parks! This fall, residents can soak up the crisp weather with new amenities at Washington Park including a playground, an improved parking lot, picnic tables and comfort station. This whimsical new playground features colorful, concrete animals, an homage to the park’s past life as the first home to the Indianapolis Zoo. These upgrades guarantee fun for all ages, with equipment in varying size and skill levels including rope climbing elements, multiple slides, musical instruments, and swings with multiple seating options.
While you’re at Washington Park, you might want to take part in one of their fall programs such as guided nature hikes, birding meetups, camping tutorials, and more! While Washington Park is sure to provide several great experiences this fall, it’s not the only place to soak up the season’s spirit. We have a wide array of exciting fall programs for all interests across the city!
Those who enjoy outdoor adventures and learning about nature can come to Owl Fest where we celebrate our nocturnal neighbors through environmental education programming and hands-on activities. Or get a group of loved ones together for a scenic hayride at Southeast way Park, ending the night with a toasty bonfire. If you’re looking for a scare this Halloween, take your ghouls and goblins out to Garfield Park’s Haunted Conservatory!
